PASCO provides several kinds of company-original data contents
to meet the demands of our customers, including national
2-D and 3-D maps, and aerial photos. This map data can be
used to develop customer map contents by special order.
Our leading-edge measurement technology enables us to provide
flexible services ranging from surveying to creating map
contents.
Japan's digital map data
2-D maps to different scales
PASCO provides national mapping data prepared under the
same specifications at a 1:25,000 scale, and also more detailed
urban mapping data to a 1:2,500 scale that covers about
1,400 cities nationwide and even depicts the shape of individual
buildings. Both maps, Fresh Maps, are updated every year,
and have earned a reputation for their excellent visual
representation and accurate road data. They are used by
not only local governments but also private companies for
their area marketing or logistics operations. More than
just a digital map, they can be combined with the national
census results, commercial statistics, or a company's customer
information to provide spatial information solutions.
Aerial photography
Highly accurate digital aerial photos covering all major
cities (orthoimages)
Up until recently, the demand for aerial surveying was
mainly from local governments to make 2-D maps. After undertaking
the development and introduction of advanced technology,
PASCO has now made it possible to acquire very accurate
and high-quality aerial photographic data. Now this data
can be used to create value-added commercial photographs
as well as to make 2-D maps, and even do automatic 3-D modeling,
and in this way PASCO tries to foster new uses for aerial
survey data.
Orthoimages are one such use that has already been successfully
developed. A complete lineup of orthoimage maps is available
in a 25 cm resolution for the three big urban areas of Japan,
a 40 cm resolution for the government-designated cities,
and a 1 meter resolution for other urban planning areas.
3D map: MAP CUBE
Highly accurate high-quality 3-D digital maps
Our 3-D digital maps represent urban areas as if they were
real. Buildings are reproduced on the map with a highly
accurate height, appearance, and color. Cities look almost
as real as possible on the map. The 3-D digital map series
has a high horizontal accuracy, within ± 30cm, and a vertical
accuracy of ± 15 cm, and covers all the government-designated
cities including the 23 Wards of Tokyo. This map is used
for a wide range of applications, from landscape simulations,
disaster prevention simulations, car navigation systems,
human navigation, news reporting, video games, and urban
planning. The map's high quality representation has won
praise from many different fields.
